R-PET and PS Packaging for HorticultureILIP Horticultural Packaging
HortiPack thermoformed products, made from R-PET or PS, are manufactured under certified quality systems and use materials containing recycled content, supporting the circulation of plastic resources.
The R-PET we use is derived from post-consumer PET sourced from food packaging and milk bottles. This material is recycled and extruded in-house by ILIP and has a characteristic grey colour, which is the natural result of the mix of the original source materials.
The grey colour is a distinctive feature of the material and can facilitate identification during certain stages of the sorting process for recycling. Compared with black materials, it may also help limit heat absorption when exposed to sunlight.
As R-PET tends to deform above 65°C, it is essential to ensure correct storage conditions, keeping the products inside the packaging and away from direct exposure to sunlight. Discover how
